Arian Behzadi (MD, FRCPC)
Dr. Arian Behzadi, M.D., F.R.C.P.C., is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst whose clinical, academic, and editorial work reflects a commitment to advancing the integration of psychoanalytic theory with contemporary psychiatry, neuroscience, and cultural studies. Building on a strong foundation in neuroscience, including postdoctoral research on dopamine systems at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and a clinical fellowship in trauma-focused therapy at Women’s College Hospital, Dr. Behzadi integrates scientific and psychoanalytic approaches in both his teaching and clinical practice. He serves as Program Lead of the Psychological Trauma Clinic at Scarborough Health Network, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and Faculty Member at the Toronto Psychoanalytic Institute. His teaching focuses on trauma-informed care, dynamic psychotherapy, and the application of psychoanalytic thought to clinical practice and culture.
