Sinai - Geriatric Psychiatrist
Recruitment of Clinical (MD) Positions at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto
Sinai Health’s Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our Department and faculty. The role involves providing outpatient geriatric psychiatry consultation and consultation to our medical and surgical patients (Geriatric CL).
Our Geriatric Psychiatry program is growing, with opportunities to expand our scope for collaborative care, and involvement in Sinai Health Senior Friendly initiatives and scholarship, including a new funded multi-year program to improve the care of people with dementia. There are valuable academic and clinical opportunities for collaboration with Sinai Health’s strong Geriatric Medicine program and to create a fulfilling academic career as a Clinician-Teacher or Clinician-Scientist, depending on the applicant/career stage.
This role includes participation as a resident/medical student supervisor on core rotations in both the general and subspecialty programs and involves opportunities to supervise geriatric medicine trainees as well.
Interest and capacity for supervision of structured psychotherapies (CBT, IPT) is also an asset and mentorship is available to support this competency.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in the clinical and academic activities of the Department of Psychiatry, including Grand Rounds, On-Call activities, and Medical Education.
This is a full-time academic position, requiring an aligned academic position description.
Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario and be eligible for appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor or above at the University of Toronto.
This position is remunerated through departmental stipends (AFP and Sessionals) and OHIP Fee-for Service billings.
