Dr. Morita spent his first two years of undergraduate studies at Deep Springs College in California and completed an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies at Harvard University.  He received his MD from the University of British Columbia and completed residency training in psychiatry at the University of Toronto.  After residency, he completed a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psycho-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.  He works as a staff psychiatrist at the University Health Network in Toronto and provides clinical care as a consultation liaison psychiatrist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.  Dr. Morita has a special interest in psychotherapy for end-of-life issues and has trained in both CALM and Meaning Centered Psychotherapy.
