Dr. Jeyarajan is a Staff Psychiatrist at Scarborough Health Network, where she provides Emergency and Crisis Psychiatry Services and cross coverage to the inpatient department. She spends the other half of her time in Collaborative/ Community Mental Health with a focus on servicing Scarborough’s marginalized communities.

She works closely with several allied teams to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in relation to their social determinants of health while focusing on cultural sensitivity and an anti-oppressive framework.

Dr. Jeyarajan is currently a Lecturer at the University of Toronto. She has been supervising and mentoring residents and medical students since 2018.  She has a previous appointment at Northern University School of Medicine, with significant experience in both clinical and didactic teaching in Eating Disorders,  Posttraumatic Stress Disorder/ trauma, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Bipolar Disorder.

Dr. Jeyarajan has expertise in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and complex trauma through her training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. She has an interest in educating the public on child maltreatment, and has published a children’s mental health book on consent and boundaries called Ella’s Choice, which was reviewed by CBC news, the Toronto Star and the National Post. Her most recent endeavour in this field involves a “Parenting with healthy boundaries” workshop at the Institute of Child Psychology.

Dr. Jeyarajan  completed a 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Toronto and completed her medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine. She graduated from the  psychiatric residency at the University of Toronto in 2017.
