Dr. David Dongkyung Kim is a Neurologist for the Neuropsychiatry Clinic at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in the Department of Psychiatry. He is a part of the Virtual Behavioral Medicine Clinic at Baycrest Hospital, which is an innovative program to treat behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. He treats inpatients at Lakeridge Health and Southlake Regional Health Centre.

Prior to starting at CAMH, Dr. Kim received his Medical Doctorate (MD) at McMaster University. He completed neurology residency training at Western University and London Health Sciences Centre. He completed a clinical fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.

He has a clinical and research interest in cognitive outcomes of mental health disorders, treatment of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, and neuropsychiatric features of neurological disorders. He has published in various journals including JAMA Neurology, Neurology, and the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences.

As a Clinician Teacher at the University of Toronto, his teaching interests include bridging the gap in medical education between neurology and psychiatry. Dr. Kim has an interest in the role of humanities in medical education and has published poetry in journals such as JAMA.
