Dr. Malick is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and an Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She is a Clinician-Educator at the Hospital for Sick Children at the University of Toronto. She completed her General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) subspecialty training at the University of Toronto. She has also completed her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition at Columbia University. Dr. Malick works at the Hospital for Sick Children as a Consultation-Liaison(CL) psychiatrist and consults to the Inpatient Eating Disorder program. She provides psychiatric consultation through Telelink and ICHA for Indigenous and Muslim youth and families. Her main clinical and research work focuses on supporting the mental health needs of medically-ill, underserved, and racialized populations, in addition to providing culturally- and spiritually-adapted care. She is involved in undergraduate, resident and subspecialty education along with continuing professional development as the the Sick Kids Consultation-Liasion Psychiatry Education lead, Founder and Chair of the Canadian Muslim Mental Health Conference and the Mental Health Director for the Muslim Medical Association of Canada. Dr. Malick has worked with Dr. Amy Gajaria and Dr. Priya Raju in developing CAP postgraduate subspecialty training that includes the lens of equity, diversity, social justice and inclusion. She has an interest in psychotherapy including mindfulness, psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy and has sought additional training in DBT-informed psychotherapy for adolescents and Families.
