The Excellence Funds are the result of a University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry (‘the Department’) fundraising effort to provide seed funding for projects by junior faculty that align with the Department’s strategic plan and priorities as expressed by the donors of funds. The three designated areas of priority are: Research, Education and Creative Professional Activity (CPA). Please note that funds designated by donors for the Research track are currently expended; as a result the 2022-2023 cycle of the Excellence Funds will be restricted to applications in Education and CPA.
2022 Monday December 12, 2022 5pm – Application deadline
2023 Late January – Adjudication meeting
2023 Mid-February – Adjudication complete and applicants notified
2023 March to May – First instalment of funds released after receipt of REB or ACC approval (if indicated), with 12 months to then complete the project and an additional 3 months to analyse the data
