48 physicians attended afternoon small group sessions. The PDM scenarios consolidated learning from the morning presentations and allowed participants to each have a turn running through a case. Faculty facilitators gave constructive comments in real time, receiving positive feedback about their supportive and clear coaching style.
One of the participants gave the following feedback in a well-known social media group for psychiatrists: ‘For anyone considering attending the University of Toronto Psych Refresh program I the future, I can’t recommend it enough. I attended it as a psychiatrist who has been in practice for about ten years, and thought I would sign up as a general review and some CME. It was very helpful, not only for residents prepping for their exams but also for the psychiatrist in practice, who wants a great overview of all the key areas/disorders. Excellent speakers, high-yield, clinically relevant information presented and evidence based/best practice recommendations reviewed. Dr. Mary Preisman has done an amazing job organizing this program and really kept the schedule/speakers on track.’
A resident from another program said, ‘I’m so happy I travelled to attend Psych Refresh. The presenters and group facilitators have all been enthusiastic and the afternoon small group OSCE practice has been incredibly valuable. Thank you so much!’
Our department is looking forward to improving and fine-tuning Psych Refresh! We hope to see you there in 2020!
