Dr. Julie Anne Irving is a staff psychologist at the Work, Stress, and Health clinic at the Centre for Addition and Mental Health (CAMH), and a Lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry, and Graduate Department of Psychological Clinical Science, University of Toronto. Dr. Irving received her PhD from McGill University in 2011 where she worked within the Faculty of Medicine’s Programs in Whole Person Care studying the prevention and treatment of burnout in health care professionals. She completed a two-year clinical/research postdoctoral fellowship in the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program at CAMH (2011-2013); her research focused on understanding the mechanisms that underpin change in mindfulness-based therapies and the prevention of depressive relapse. Following her postdoc she helped found the Integrated Care Pathway for Depression and Alcohol in the CAMH Addiction Medicine Service as the Psychology Lead for the program. Currently she is involved in teaching and supervising psychology graduate students and served as the Interim Director-of-Training for the psychology practicum program at CAMH for 2017-2018.
