Dr. Ng trained at the University of Toronto. He specialized in neuroscience and psychiatry for his Honours Bachelor of Science, then completed his MD and PhD through the MD/PhD program focusing on the relationship between brain circuits and behaviour. He completed his psychiatry residency and child and adolescent subspecialty training in 2024. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He is an adolescent inpatient psychiatrist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and interventional psychiatrist for youth in the Harquail Centre for Neuromodulation, part of the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program at Sunnybrook. As a Clinician Investigator, Dr. Ng’s lab translates neuroscience findings into innovate treatment pathways to promote health and resilience in youth with mental health disorders. Entitled the SYNERGY lab (synergizing neuroplastic interventions for youth), his research program will: 1) personalize circuit-based treatments for youth, 2) synergize across treatment modalities to promote resilience, and 3) build new models of care and system capacity to support them.
