Aarti Rana

Dr. Aarti Rana (she/her) is a Staff Psychiatrist at Mount Sinai Hospital in medical psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry. She works across inpatient and outpatient settings, caring for patients with concurrent psychiatric and medical illness or symptoms. She supervises medical students and psychiatry residents during their core rotations in consultation-liaison psychiatry. 

Dr. Rana completed her MD at McMaster University and her psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto. Her clinical and academic interests center on the interface of physical and mental health, with a focus on how patients experience and adapt to illness, and how psychiatric diagnosis is conceptualized in medically complex populations, and vice versa. She is particularly interested in group-based models of care and has contributed to the development and evaluation of low-barrier psychoeducational and skills-based interventions in outpatient medical psychiatry.
