The fellowship program continues to thrive, as evidenced by the number of fellows which continues to raise, as well as the posted open fellowship opportunities. Over the same period, the fellowship stipends have increased and have now been fully aligned with the stipend provided to any PGY-3 resident (as of July 1, 2025).
A fellowship orientation meeting was held on October 4, 2024 where new fellows were provided with an orientation booklet, the available library resources at U of T, and were informed about the services provided by the Office of Learner Affairs.
Over the past academic year, two fellowship advisory committee were held with each fellowship site director to review activities and obtain input from all sites.
A significant portion of fellows engaged also actively in research projects with their supervisors. Many of the projects were presented as oral presentations at the “Psychiatry Fellowship Academic Half Day”, held at CAMH on June 5, 2025. Fellows appreciated the meeting and expressed their interest in regular webinars for the upcoming academic year.
Fellows also presented their research at the Annual Departmental Research Day on June 19, 2025. At the subsequent graduation dinner, fellows who completed their fellowships received their certificates issued by U of T’s PGME office. The “Best Accomplishment by a Fellow” and the “Best Fellowship Supervisor” Awards were provided to Dr. Caroline Wanderley Espinola and Dr. Michael Mak, respectively
