Dr. Senthuran Gunaratnam is a staff psychiatrist at Scarborough Health Network (SHN) and a lecturer at the University of Toronto (UofT). As a dedicated clinician educator, he serves as a physician examiner and actively mentors and supervises medical students and residents. In 2024, he was recognized as the Best Specialist Physician Teacher of the Year by UofT’s Department of Family Medicine. At SHN, Dr. Gunaratnam leads physician education in the Department of Psychiatry while also consulting for Fred Victor Centre and LOFT Community Services, reflecting his commitment to strengthening healthcare across clinical and community settings. Passionate about mental health advocacy in the Canadian Tamil community, he has delivered impactful workshops and presentations on national and international stages, championing awareness, and cultural understanding.
