Christopher Lo
Dr. Christopher Lo graduated with his doctorate in Psychology from University of Toronto studying the development of self as understood within one’s social and cultural context, before moving on to the study of psychiatry, health and disease. His perspective entails attention to social context when understanding individual differences in adaptation and development.
Research Synopsis
Dr. Lo's work concerns existential psychology, which involves the study and treatment of individuals with life-threatening illness as they confront their mortality and seek to make sense of their situations and their lives. His research draws on quantitative and qualitative methods and he has designed measures of death anxiety and existential distress to promote conversations about the end of life which may ease such fears.
