Brian Hodges
PhD, MD, FRCPC
Brian Hodges is Executive-Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at University Health Network, and Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He currently serves as President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Brian is a practicing psychiatrist, teacher and healthcare leader. His research and writing focus on assessment, competence, compassion and the future of the health professions.
Educational Details
Brian earned a degree in Psychology and an MD at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, after which he completed a psychiatry residency and a fellowship in medical education at the University of Toronto. He earned Master’s degree and then a PhD in Education at the University of Toronto. He also completed a Diploma in Health Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Paris where he continues as a guest lecturer.
