Dr. Howlett completed his medical doctorate at Dalhousie University (2007) and a residency in psychiatry at the University of Toronto (2012). Dr. Howlett is a psychiatrist at Unity Health and the Service Head for St. Joseph's Health Centre's Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Program. Dr. Howlett is a leader in the area of Fathers' Mental Health and was the first to provide a Fathers’ Mental Health Consultation and Treatment Program in Canada. Dr. Howlett is also the Co-Chair for the Division of Child and Youth Mental Health's Advocacy Forum.
