Topics of interest may include strategies and skills to address known challenges, important elements that are key to success as a principal investigator and researcher, and opportunities concerning academic careers of faculty in a clinician scientist or clinician investigator role.

Potential topics may include:

  • Choosing and maintaining a career pathway - what does my role look like?

  • Negotiation and self-advocacy skills (When to say yes: establishing priorities as a new clinician-scientist)

  • Programs and opportunities to support career as clinician scientist or clinician investigator

  • Grantmanship and success in submitting proposals / grant applications

  • Success in submitting manuscripts; dealing with rejection of proposals/papers

  • Developing and managing productive collaborations

  • Promotion pathways

  • Work-life balance

  • Research supervision: supporting trainees and postdoc fellows

  • Promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Research Supervision
