Baycrest - Full-time psychiatrist - Clinician Teacher

Recruitment of Clinical (MD) Positions at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto

Job Summary

Baycrest is seeking a full-time psychiatrist to provide clinical care in a variety of clinical settings including the ambulatory mental health clinic, consultation liaison, and telepsychiatry. The successful candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the University of Toronto.

Baycrest is an academic health sciences centre that is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto providing a continuum of care for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, long-term care and a post-acute hospital, all within one campus. Baycrest is a vibrant working environment that prides itself on excellence in patient and family-centred care, continuous quality improvement, and innovating new models of care. The incumbent will participate in the on call and ECT schedules and make contributions to medical education, research/scholarship, and innovation.

The successful applicant must hold an MD degree, and must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in the RCPSC Psychiatry Specialty. Successful completion of subspecialty residency or fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry, or completion of the Royal College geriatric psychiatry certification examination, is considered an asset for this position. The applicant must be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
